"But He said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.' Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me. 10 That is why, for Christ.s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong."
God started trying to get this verse in my head a few years ago. It started with a presentation in the Shoreline Superchurch based on Superman...who needed a Saviour. (Way to rock it, P Ray.) There were even cool t-shirts w/a JC Superman like logo on the front and 2 Cor. 12:9-10 on the back.
I was beginning to understand the verse a bit, but not all the way. Delighting in weakness is so against our culture and is certainly not in any goal setting materials I've seen. Thankfully I have the Holy Spirit to teach me.
A few months ago another part stood out - He said to me. It hit me while chewing on this verse during a walk. Dealing with feelings of sadness and failure because a few of my girls were not home schooling anymore, I was returning to this verse for hope. I didn't physically hear God's voice, but His Word resonated throughout my being. "His grace is sufficient for me. His power is made perfect in weakness." That's good news because I have some weaknesses.
